Pick up from the Florence or Pisa airport or train station and transfer to your accommodation, a beautiful wine resort in the Chianti area. The resort is located a few miles from Gaiole in Chianti in the heart of Tuscany and was once a small medieval village and now has been expertly restored for those who want to discover the true essence of Chianti.

The wine resort, surrounded by the Chianti Classico vineyards and producing organic Chianti wine, also features ancient wine cellars, a great restaurant and a spa.

Dinner on your own.

In the morning you will have your first cooking lesson. You will choose the ingredients and prepare the dishes under the guidance and direction of the chef of the wine resort. The duration of the course is about 3 hours, and at the end you will enjoy lunch to taste all of the dishes you helped create.

In the late afternoon you will visit the wine cellar and a wine tasting will follow.

Dinner on your own.

Pick up in the morning for a full day excursion through the Chianti area and Fiesole. You will first reach Fiesole on the hills around Florence to visit a local farm (fattoria) which origins date back to the 15th century, covering an area of nearly 300 hectares mainly used for growing olives (20.000 olive trees on 110 hectares) and it’s a completely organic agricultural estate. Frantoio and Moraiolo olives, are picked entirely by hand in the months of November and December, then pressed in the estate mill. The premium product is Laudemio, an excellent extra virgin oil with a high nutritional value. You will visit the estate, have an olive oil tasting and lunch at the Fattoria.

Then you will drive back to the Chianti area. You will visit small untouched villages such as Montefioralle and Panzano in Chianti. Transfer back to the wine resort.

Dinner on your own.

Today you will have your second cooking lesson at the wine resort followed by lunch.

Afternoon at leisure.

Dinner on your own.

Pick up in the morning and onto a 4 star relais for the next four nights. The relais is walking distance to the small, untouched village of Montefollonico. It’s surrounded by a wonderful landscape and features a gourmet restaurant.

Originally an olive mill, the relais' superiors rooms have been sympathetically designed and enjoy a beautiful view from the garden of Montepulciano, Monte Amiata and the stunning countryside. All are tastefully furnished with traditional country antiques. Some are also enriched with whirlpool bath and fire places. A marble grinding quern and the old stone walls are still visible which, together with a great serenity and timeless atmosphere, make this hotel the right place to combine taste and relaxation.

Dinner on your own.

Pick up from your accommodation and transfer to Siena where you will meet our expert guide. You will visit the Cathedral and the Baptistery, the Campo Square, the Corso (the main street that crosses the historic center) and the Torre del Mangia. Our guide will be happy to introduce you to the Palio and you could visit the “Contrada” seats and the Palio Museum.

Then we will drive to an organic farm. The farm cultivates the special purple crocus flower that saffron comes from, as well as extra virgin olive oil, vegetables, and an abundance of Tuscan herbs such as rosemary, thyme, lavender, mint and sage. You willl learn about the farm’s sustainable production of the tiny red threads known as saffron. After a short tour, you will enjoy a delicious lunch served on an open terrace with a splendid view across the hills to San Gimignano and its towers. Your lunch will include a saffron dish and will be prepared by the farm's owner who uses fresh vegetables and herbs from the farm's garden. So you will enjoy a true meal directly farm-to-table, tasting truly genuine dishes. After lunch transfer to San Gimignano and time at leisure.

San Gimignano is an amazingly well preserved medieval town, known as the “city of the fair towers” with its fourteen soaring towers (of the seventy-six original) that dominate the skyline.

Transfer back to the relais and dinner on your own.
