Umbria, Italy - 2 or 4 nights

This tour is for all food and wine lovers who would like to discover traditional Umbrian recipes and great wines! Spend time taking hands-on cooking classes, sampling wine, doing some sightseeing and relaxing in a beautiful 17th century patrician villa in the Umbrian countryside. Over the years this villa has been the home of nobles and has retained its large fireplaces, frescoes, ancient cotto floors and period furnishings and is the perfect setting for your getaway. And if truffles are your thing, you can also add a truffle hunt to your stay! 


Enjoy a two or four night program including cooking classes and/or wine tasting at one of Umbria's well-known producers and gourmet dinners at a lovely restaurant on the premises. Your dinner will be accompanied by selected Umbrian wines from our distinguished selection and competent service by a certified sommelier. 

 

Your Italian chef, along with a translator, will teach you the secrets of Umbrian and Tuscan cuisine, using the freshest ingredients of the season. Learn to cook traditional dishes that you will easily be able to re-create at home for your friends and family. Cooking classes are held on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays.

 

 We can also include a truffle hunt to your itinerary (please inquire). Discover the authentic taste of Umbria with a search for white truffles which are located in the beautiful hills of the villa. Our truffle dogs and guide will lead the search for this rare delicacy. After the truffle hunt, you will return to the restaurant and enjoy an amazing three-course lunch based on truffles. 

 

TWO NIGHT ITINERARY

 

Day one

 
Arrival at the villa which is a beautiful 17th-century patrician villa in the countryside of Umbria. The luxurious country hotel is set in a tranquil setting, overlooking rolling hills and olive groves and invites you to experience its romance and unparalleled comfort. Welcome drink and presentation of the program.

Day two

 
After breakfast, you will start your cooking class at 10.00am. The hands-on course provides an excellent insight into the preparation of exquisite regional dishes as well as traditional cooking methods. The course has a duration of approximately three hours and will be followed by a meal. At the end, participants will be provided with a recipe booklet of the meal.  

 

Free evening on your own. 

 

 

Day three

 

Departure after breakfast. 

 

 

 

FOUR NIGHT ITINERARY

 

Day one

 
Arrival at the villa. 

 

Welcome drink and presentation of the program.

 

Gourmet dinner tonight at the hotel restaurant.

 

 

 

 

Day two

 

After breakfast, you will start your first cooking class at 10.00am. This three hour hands-on course provides an excellent insight into the preparation of exquisite regional dishes as well as traditional cooking methods. The course is followed by a meal of your creations.

 

Free evening on your own.

 

 

Day three

 

Your third day is dedicated to great Umbrian wines.

 

After breakfast drive to Torgiano and visit the Lungarotti Foundation’s Wine Museum, one of the most excellent in the world. Giorgio Lungarotti was the first wine producer to export Umbrian wines all over the world, but his fame has grown enormously because of the importance of the collections shown in his museum. Subsequent to the visit of the museum, enjoy a wine tasting in the “Osteria del Museo” which is close by.

 

In the afternoon we suggest you explore Montefalco, home to the famous “Sagrantino” wine, and Bevagna. The charming medieval town will provide you with many opportunities to try and acquire great wines, like Sagrantino “secco” and “passito”.

Day four

 

After breakfast, you will have the second part of the cooking class. The lecture will have a duration of approximately three hours and will be followed by a meal. At the end of the course clink glasses with the chef, who will provide you with a recipe booklet of the meals you have created.

 

Free evening on your own.

 

 

Day five

 

After breakfast departure.

The spa completes the offer of this fantastic hotel with luxury beauty treatments as well as a vast variety of massages, aesthetic treatments and exclusive relaxation courses for individuals or couples.
