You will be introduced to its gastronomic secrets and will join in on hands on culinary and wine adventures with a talented chef whose style of cooking reflects the use of fresh, fragrant, colorful, seasonal food inspired by the markets and local producers. Discover the 1er and Grand Cru Vineyards with a renowned wine expert with exclusive access to some of the most famous Domaine’s in the Cote de Nuits and Cote de Beaune. Create delectable dishes, witness the vibrant market of Dijon, learn from the area's traditional baker and dine out at 3* Michelin Restaurant.
Together with wine experts and local wine producers your chef and host offers exclusive visits into vineyards of the most prestigious Domaines in Burgundy.
Your base for the week is a beautiful 200 year old renovated home which has been created specifically to accommodate tailor made vacations throughout the year, offering a variety of experiences from exploring the basics of French cooking to the famous wine auctions at the Hospice de Beaune, a bread making day with Dijon’s top traditional bread maker and cooking experiences.
Your experienced chef Katherine has had the unique opportunity to work in Marc Meneaus Vezely 3* Restaurant and has had a very successful business in the UK for many years. She has been included in the most prestigious cooking magazine in the UK and has appeared on the UK TV Cooking Channel, with several recipes published in the UK newspapers. As a result, she is frequently asked by the French Tourist Board to take part in demonstrations at their major festivals.
This is truly an experience you will not soon forget and will cherish memories for a lifetime!
Day One - Sunday
Arrive to your beautiful home for the week by transfer from the local station provided by your hosts, and enjoy the local Burgundian Aperitif & Welcome Chat.
There will be plenty of time to explore the village and meander along the canal before dinner, where we will discuss the weeks' program and delight in a wine tasting with our expert Brendan Moore who will explain the sometimes confusing appellation of Burgundy’s famous wines.
Dinner is prepared by your hostess.
Day Two - Monday
After a leisurely breakfast you will be preparing for your first culinary experience, discussing basic knife skills, recipes and techniques guests would like to explore during the week, learning how to combine fragrant herbs, pairing fabulous ingredients to create a colorful ‘al fresco’ lunch outside in the courtyard.
This will be followed by a visit to enjoy the wines of the area's local vineyard Flavigny where the film ‘Chocolat’ was made. This wonderful vineyard is just 10 mins away. The wine is fabulous and very drinkable. The owners are knowledgable, full of amusing stories and passionate about their wines.
Dinner will be cooked by the group and your host.
Day Three - Tuesday
Today you will be heading off to Dijon and the colourful Market that is held 3 times a week. You will be armed with your recipe book and a list of ingredients to seek out, testing your French! When your baskets are full a well earned café au lait awaits you before heading back via the ducal palace of the Dukes of Burgundy.
A rustic lunch will be enjoyed from the market out in the courtyard, and then you will be treated to a traditional bread making lesson before preparing supper using all the delicious goodies brought that morning.
Dinner will be cooked by your host and all those wishing to join in.
Day Four - Wednesday
After breakfast we will be concentrating on requests from all our guests, mastering the secrets of traditional French cuisine, for example classic sauces, vinaigrettes, veloutés and stocks, creating the perfect pâté, smoking a sublime duck fillet, or even basics of tempering chocolate.
Dinner will be cooked and served by your hostess where she will demonstrate seasonal recipes from her cookbook.
Day Five - Thursday
A free morning to meander along the Burgundy Canal before heading out to Michelin starred Bernard Loiseau for lunch in the beautiful surroundings of their gardens.
Retuning home we shall be preparing a light supper with ingredients from the potager
Dinner will be light and prepared by the group.
Day Six - Friday
This morning we shall be preparing lunch together and then taking a trip into the local town of Semur en Auxois.
Our farewell supper will be a culmination of all you have learned during your stay.
Day Seven - Saturday
Alas, all good things must come to an end and after breakfast we will be offering transfers to the train station in Montbard where you will be taken to Paris in time for lunch, and your new appreciation for all things French can be truly indulged!

Perfectly situated just 2 hours by car from Paris-A6 direction Lyon, 1 hour by TGV to Montbard from Paris or Charles de Gaulle Airport.
Nearest Airports: Paris Charles de Gaulle (highly recommended because of the TGV high speed train to Montbard Train Station) and Lyon
Nearest Train Station: Montbard (if flying into Paris) and Les Laumes Alesia (the local train station, if flying into Lyon - but this has a connection in Dijon Ville)
Closest Village: Marigny Le Cahouet

The property was quite lovely! The welcome was wonderful – just like walking into your own country home! Our room was beautiful, spacious & uncluttered, the showers were fabulous and the beds VERY comfortable. Breakfast choice was excellent – nothing else required! Both the lunches & Dinners were feasts and dishes that we can do at home. Your choices were varied and excellent. Lovely Wines and I loved how you matched it to the wines tastings of the day. We were relaxed enough to question what others in the group were cooking, and it was wonderful when it all came together on your beautiful dining table.
