Amalfi Coast, Italy - 6 nights

We have designed the perfect combination of walking and cooking lessons for this six night experience on the Amalfi Coast. Spend one night in a beautiful three star superior hotel in a small village on the Amalfi Coast and five nights in a four star hotel in the popular village of Positano. You will have guided walking tours so as to work off all of the delicious food and wine you will consume on this fabulous getaway!

 

Your cooking classes will be held in the open kitchen of a very popular hotel restaurant. You will learn regional specialties, including appetizers, a first course (primi) and a second course (secondi). Then of course you will enjoy eating what you have prepared with the chef. 

 

Your walking tours will introduce you to the beautiful scenery of the Amalfi Coast providing you with a unqiue perspective of this gorgeous part of Italy. The tour also includes a trek in Capri, one of the most beautiful islands in the world. 

 

This escape is for those with a passion for food, travel and exploration! 

 

 

 

ITINERARY

 

DAY ONE

 


POMPEI AND SORRENTO PENINSULA

 

Arrival in Naples with a private transfer to Nerano ( Sorrento Peninsula ). You will stop on the way in Pompei where you will meet your private guide. Then you will stop in Sorrento for a look around.

 

Afterwards, you will travel to the village of Nerano, a small village on the Amalfi coast,  just across from the island of Capri. Accommodation will be at a 3 star Superior relais which is  located just a few meters away from the sea on the enchanting Salerno Gulf, between Capri and Positano. The relais provides an oasis of taste and calm, perfectly complemented with luxurious suites, a small swimming pool and a terrace. Staying in this secluded village you will enjoy the true atmosphere of the Amalfi Coast together with an enchanting overview, far from the crowd. 

 

Dinner on your own this evening. 

 

DAY TWO

 

THE SORRENTO PENINSULA

 

Length: about 4 hours; easy to moderate 
Drop: +150 meters; -800 meters.

 

Meet your private guide at the hotel for your first walk which will be a trek through the beautiful Sorrento Peninsula. In the afternoon you will have a private transfer to Positano. 

 

Your accommodation for the next five nights will be at a beautiful 4 star hotel in a  sea view room.

 

Dinner on your own this evening in Positano or any of the nearby villages on the Amalfi Coast. 

 

DAY THREE

 

THE PATH OF THE GODS & COOKING LESSON

 

Length : about 4 hours, quite easy, a significant number of steps along the way

 

You will meet your private guide at the hotel with a private transfer by car to Agerola village. From here you will walk with your guide along the path named Sentiero degli Dei (Path of the Gods) which starts in Agerola, on the hills behind Positano and boasts wonderful views out over the sea and the coastline as far as the isle of Capri.

 

In the afternoon you will have your first hands on cooking lesson. The lesson will take place in the kitchen of one the best restaurants in Positano. You will learn how to prepare some typical appetizers such as fiori di zucchine ripieni, involtini di pesce spada, one typical first course and one second course.

 

Dinner will follow. 

 

DAY FOUR

 

RAVELLO & AMALFI

 

Length: about 3.5 hours; quite easy/steps and walking
Drop: +250/-250 meters.

 

Pick up from your hotel and private transfer to Ravello where you will meet your private guide. You will walk from Ravello, the medieval pearl of the Coast, where we will visit the amazing Villa Rufolo, down to the Canneto Valley. This is the place that manufactures the famous Amalfi paper. Time at leisure in Amalfi and transfer back to Positano.

 

Dinner on your own this evening. 

 

DAY FIVE

 

CAPRI ISLAND

 

Length: 3 hours ; easy/moderate
Drop: +150 meters; 150 meters

 

Meet your private guide at the hotel. Then onto Capri by public hydrofoil for a walking tour of the island. From Marina Grande you will reach Tragara viewpoint and the natural arc, on the southern side of the island through an old forest of holm-oak facing the typical Mediterranean bays of a calcareous island. Time permitting, you can ride the cable car to Mount Solaro, Capri's highest point with astounding vistas or just stroll through the narrow streets of Capri village. Transportation back to Positano.

 

Enjoy dinner on your own this evening at one of the many restaurants in Positano. 

 

DAY SIX

 

COOKING LESSON IN POSITANO

 

Time at leisure in the morning.

 

In the afternoon you will have your second hands on cooking lesson. The menu could be something like gnocchi alla sorrentina (soft dumplings topped with tomato sauce, parmesan cheese, onion and basil), polpette di melanzana ( eggplant balls ), tagliolini al limone (thin tagliatelle with lemon sauce). 

 

Dinner of your creations will follow.                                    

  

DAY SEVEN

 

Transfer to Naples Airport/Train Station.

A minimum of 2 participants is required to run this tour and the tour is limited to a maximum of 12 participants.
